Hillbilly Elegy was penned by JD in 2016 and tells a story about the Appalachian values of his family from Kentucky and the socioeconomic problems of his hometown of Middletown, Ohio.

Not only was the his memoir a best seller in 2016 but after Trump picked him as his running mate in 2024, Hillbilly Elegy once again saw its name on the best seller list.
