Odds And Standings Released Before Final Presidential Debate

With election day just weeks away, many expect the final presidential debate to be pivotal for both the Biden and Trump campaigns.

As it stands, Biden leads in the polls by a significant margin. The Biden campaign has raised more funds and has spent more than the Trump administration in ad messaging.

Actual swing states, such as Florida and Pennsylvania that solidified Trump’s 2016 presidential victory favor, Biden, by an average of five percentage points. Similarly, US Senate odds reflect a similar favor for a Democratic push.

Despite this, the Trump administration has taken leaps and strides in the past few weeks to close the gap. Shortly after the President’s coronavirus diagnosis, he fell behind Biden in the polls by nearly ten percentage points.

Moreover, the 2016 presidential election candidate, Hillary Clinton, held nearly the same lead over Trump in the polls as Biden does today.

On October 22nd at 9:00 PM in Nashville, Tennessee, Biden, and Trump poise to head on critical issues like the pandemic, race, families, climate change, national security, and leadership.

Today, before the debate, we here at PEO decided it would be a good idea to mark where the current odds stand for the two candidates on our favorite political betting sites.

These odds and lines were pulled from two of our recommended sportsbooks:  Bovada Political Betting Odds & MyBookie Political Betting Odds

Key Swing State Odds

Florida (FL)

  • Democratic Candidate -125
  • Republican Candidate -105

Florida’s gap narrows, and though the odds still favor Biden, Trump’s campaign has poured money into Florida’s ad space to try to synch it’s 29 electoral college votes.

Iowa (IA)

  • Republican Candidate -170
  • Democratic Candidate +130

Trump leads in Iowa, but by only 0.2 percentage points. Iowa provides six electoral college votes and is a less risky line to wager on.

Ohio (OH)

  • Republican Candidate -190
  • Democratic Candidate +145

Polls show Trump ahead by 1.7 percentage points. We’re watching this line closely.

Pennsylvania (PA)

  • Democratic Candidate -250
  • Republican Candidate +185

Pennsylvania gave Trump 20 electoral college votes in 2016. Biden is currently beating Trump by 5.6 percentage points.

North Carolina (NC)

  • Democratic Candidate -130
  • Republican Candidate EVEN

NC is a tight race. Biden’s lead of 3 percentage points makes us here at PEO reconsider wagering on this line.

Arizona (AZ)

  • Democratic Candidate -150
  • Republican Candidate +115

The odds reflect the tightness of the polls in Arizona’s case.

Presidential Election Odds

US Presidential Election Winner

  • Joe Biden-165
  • Donald Trump+125

Popular Vote Winner

  • Democrats -500
  • Republicans +330

While Joe Biden and the Democrats appear to have the popular vote in the bag. Donald Trump has taken big steps in closing the gap that Biden enjoyed earlier in the election.

We expect that these margins will become slimmer the closer it gets to the election. If you bet on Trump in 2016, you got huge payouts. This cycle won’t be as significant, but you can still rake in the coin betting on the underdog.
