New Hampshire Primary Odds Heavily Favor Bernie Sanders Before Democratic Debate

Seven presidential candidates will take the stage for tonight’s Democratic debate in New Hampshire, but only one will walk away with the most votes from the second state of the primary on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

And the odds favor the Bern once again.

Bernie Sanders is the overwhelming favorite to win the next stop trail on the trail, receiving far-and-away the highest odds to win the New Hampshire primary next week, according to the oddsmakers at Bovada Sportsbook.

New Hampshire Primary Odds

Via Bovada – Feb. 7, 2020

  • Bernie Sanders -300
  • Pete Buttigieg +190
  • Elizabeth Warren +2500
  • Joe Biden +2500
  • Andrew Yang +5000
  • Amy Klobuchar +10000

Can Bernie win New Hampshire?

Sanders’ betting chances are listed at -300 odds ($300 bet wins $100), which is mathematically equivalent to a 75% implied probability.

And you have to look pretty hard to see the other Democratic candidates’ chances of winning the Granite State due to how small they are comparatively.

Pete Buttigieg’s betting odds show him in second at +190, which is a roughly 34.48% chance when not accounting for the vigorish or juice at the sportsbook.

The two appear to be the only candidates in serious contention to win New Hampshire, which is expected following the results from the Iowa Caucus disaster. Elizabeth Warren’s chances are next but are a distant third at +2500 odds, an approximately 3.85% probability.

Sanders winning New Hampshire appears to be a relatively safe bet, but nothing is really safe after Iowa. According to the updated NH average polling at RealClearPolitics, Sanders polls at 26.7% support while Buttigieg is listed at 22.0% for the aggregate opinion surveys.
