For the upcoming general election on November 3, 2020, New Yorkers will be electing 27 US House representatives and casting their votes for the President of the United States. Of course, before the general election, NY held its Presidential primaries for both the Democrat and Republican nominations on June 23, 2020, rescheduled from April 28 due to the coronavirus.
If you want to know how to bet on elections, it’s easy enough. Even though NY has recently legalized sports betting, however, you won’t find any in-state election betting odds. For those, you’ll have to use a reputable international sports betting site.

State Election

In 2016, Hillary Clinton easily took New York with 59.01% of the vote, while Donald Trump scored only 36.52% of the vote. With a Democratic trifecta at the state level, NY is viewed as a blue stronghold, and while Trump should win the GOP nod in the state for 2020, he will not likely spend much time campaigning there. Of course, neither will the Democrats.
New York might be heavily blue, but that just means that the Democratic primary candidates have to fight that much harder to win residents’ votes. Usually. However, despite there being a logjam at the top of the DNC betting odds boards earlier in the race, by the time NY held its Democratic primary, Joe Biden was the only candidate remaining in the race.
While New York is practically a foregone conclusion for the Democratic party in any major election, Donald Trump has near total support from the state’s GOP and Republican voters. In 2016, Trump grabbed nearly 60% of NY voters in the Republican primary. In 2020, due to Trump being atop the GOP odds boards and running unopposed, the state’s Republican primary was cancelled, giving Trump all 94 delegates.
New York is a solid blue state and has voted Democrat in the last seven presidential elections. The Republicans have virtually no chance of flipping the state red, and it’s unlikely that they’re going to dedicate too many resources in the attempt to do so.
However, you can still get plenty of entertaining and profitable NY election odds at any top election betting site. And, as is particularly popular in the Empire State, you can also bet on Trump impeachment odds.
